Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and analytic Clinical Quality and Business Performance Support Manager for the Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre (ESEOC).
This role requires a visible leader to work with teams across different specialities and to help drive excellent clinical data quality. The role will require design of building excellent reports to support delivery of care and improvement within the centre and end to end pathway. The post will also be responsible for the business planning, business cases and monthly reporting. ESEOC is a new centre and this position gives an exciting opportunity for you to be at the heart of supporting clinical improvement and delivery through excellent analysis and reporting.
You will be a key member of the team working closely with the ESEOC Head of Care, Clinical Director, Associate Clinical Directors and the Head of Operations as well as the operational team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic team to implement major change within one of the largest acute NHS organisation.
You will have excellent communication, negotiation and facilitation skills and the ability to convey complex information in an easily understood manner and deliver to challenging timescales.

Main duties of the job
- To lead on all aspects of operational business planning, service planning, CIP identification, project management and the development and writing of business cases within the CDG, ensuring they are consistency checked, contain relevant information and have relevant financial information.
- To be responsible for ensuring excellent data quality and be able to support clinicians with easy data capture for ongoing monitoring of clinical improvement work and evaluation.
- To understand data reporting internally and nationally aligned to model hospital metrics. To understand any variation in reporting and to support corrective action so national reported metrics are accurate and reflect the ESEOC work.
- To build, design and have oversight of early warning reporting systems to support optimisation of patient demand and flow at all stages if the patient pathway and to avoid underutilised theatres and lists.
- Support the identification of cost improvement opportunities and administer the quality assurance process and work with the CDG to put actions in place to realise the opportunity.
- Work with the CDG to project manage the implementation of cost improvement and efficiency measures across all areas of the Trust, highlighting delays, issues and risks.
- Challenge staff at all levels to deliver benefits through committed action and change management.
- Support the CDG with a variety of projects and national submissions.
- Support the CDG with clinical transformation programmes.
