Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic experienced Cancer Nurse To help develop and deliver cancer services within Dermatology Colchester.
The candidate will be expected to undertake the master's program including Non-medical prescribing to enable them to develop nurse led clinics with new and follow-up patients.
This will be a demanding role with the expectations that the candidate will continue developing nurse led service within Cancer care in dermatology at a national and international level.
Although previous dermatology experience is desirable many aspects of the role can be undertaken with extensive knowledge of cancer pathways and knowledge of skin cancers can be developed supported through in house competencies and MSc programme.
There will also be the opportunity to develop surgical skills for the management and treatment of skin cancers, supported by academic modules.
Main duties of the job
- Be an autonomous practitioner, responsible for ensuring safe, effective and holistic care of patients with Skin cancer and dermatology conditions
- Prescribe treatments as a non-medical prescriber
- Clinical role in F2F and Telephone clinics
- Nursing development and promotion of dermatology nursing
- Opportunity to develop/continue if experienced in lesion recognition or surgical biopsies.
