Senior Physiotherapist - Prosthetic Rehab

Job summary

Due to restructure we have an opportunity for a physiotherapist to join our Prosthetic Rehab team within the Integrated Therapy Team in Colchester.

The role is part time and static and the successful candidate will join a small team of Physiotherapists and prosthetists providing prosthetic rehab for patients in North East Essex and East Suffolk. The team works with adults of all ages and is based on achieving client-centred goals in a time oriented way.

Well-structured and established support exists for staff CPD throughout the department, including regular supervision and an active Appraisal process.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for providing specialist assessment and treatment for outpatient amputee patients ensuring appropriate pathways of care and communications via liaison and referral to other agencies as required.

To work with the clinical lead, in planning, co-ordinating, delivery and evaluating the Physiotherapy service provided to prosthetics on a day to day basis

To provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to patients, the majority of whom have urgent, complex and/or chronic presentations.

To demonstrate, as an autonomous practitioner, advanced assessment, analytical and clinical reasoning skills to determine a clinical diagnosis and treatment plan.

To administer the appropriate treatment including the use of advanced techniques and re-evaluation of those techniques on a continual basis. To maintain records in accordance with CSP regulations.

To be flexible in the work place potentially working in the Outpatient department/gym and GP surgeries.

To assist the Senior Staff in delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy Service provided to acute and chronic conditions and those with bio psychosocial issues on a day to day basis.

To contribute to the achievement of service objectives, facilitating change as necessary.

There may be a requirement to work between different sites.

There is the need to complete home visits which may include schools, care homes etc.
