Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Renal Nurse Specialist to join the Medicine division at Ipswich Hospital. East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust are looking for a Registered Nurse with experience in renal nursing.

The position is for 22.5 hours per week and will be a great opportunity to join a small nurse specialist team with 4 other nurses, to work with the rest of the nephrology team, vascular team, radiology, wards and dialysis unit.

You should be an enthusiastic and innovative Registered Nurse with the ability to work with different specialities.

Working hours Mon - Fri 09.00 - 17.00

Main duties of the job

  • To provide leadership and to be accountable for staff working within the Renal Clinical Nurse Specialist team.
  • To lead on and advice regarding strategic nursing issues impacting on the renal service including service planning, development and clinical governance.
  • To manage a case load of patients consisting of CKD, low clearance and Pre & Post Renal transplant patients.
  • To provide professional advice to patients, family/carers and other health professionals at Ipswich Hospital.
