Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the delivery of the diagnostic respiratory and sleep physiology services at the brand new Clacton Diagnostic Hub.
Once training has been completed you will be able to run a sleep study set up clinic.
You will play a key role in the running and development of the Sleep diagnostic services which will involve attaching and demonstrating to patients how to apply their overnight sleep study device, for outpatients and where required inpatients.
You will maintain a good level of technical work in addition to downloading the data for the respiratory physiologist.
You will be responsible for triaging phone messages for CPAP equipment replacements and posting out to patients.
You will be joining a busy, multidisciplinary team including, CPAP Practitioner, Physiologists, Consultants, Respiratory Nurse Specialists and Administrative support.
You will carry out demonstrations and applications of a range of respiratory and sleep investigations:
Respiratory Sleep Polygraphy
Overnight Pulse Oximetry
Please note, the role will be cross sited across Clacton and Colchester
Main duties of the job
- To provide a professional and efficient service to the patients of ESNEFT
- To increase your practical and theoretical knowledge of the role of Sleep Technician
- To perform a select range of Sleep & Respiratory investigations to a high standard with appropriate supervision as required.
- To maintain CPD.
- To adhere to the policy and procedures of the Sleep Department
- To ensure the health and safety of those patients under your supervision
- Deal with telephone queries from patients, relatives, general practitioners etc using the departmental database and portal and triaging to appropriate person
- Perform device set up and clinics without supervision: (After training) cross sites as required
- To arrange and set up the recordings for a range of sleep studies, data download and management of patients and equipment.
