The Therapy Department is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Inpatient team in the specialty areas of cardio-respiratory, critical care, surgery and respiratory medicine. As part of the MDT team, you will provide professional clinical leadership as a specialist practitioner.

We work closely with a variety of professions including Speech and Language Therapists, dietitians, pharmacists and Occupational Therapists as well as our nursing and medical colleagues. Educating the wider MDT on the role of Physiotherapy will be an essential component of this post, along with the development of key roles such as Assistant Practitioners. You will work closely with the Team Leads to support with service developments.

Main duties of the job

You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to teach, supervise and appraise band 5 physiotherapists, Therapy Support Workers and students. You will need a broad range of experience across core rotations (including respiratory). You will be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical reasoning, organisational and prioritisation skills in order to manage an acute caseload effectively.

Development is encouraged through our appraisal structure and training programme. This role will provide opportunities to develop leadership skills and will be supported by our practice education team with access to funded CPD.

This is an opportunity for applicants looking to move into a senior position or candidates who are looking to develop their experience further working alongside an established experienced MDT across the clinical area of Respiratory Physiotherapy.

The post holder will participate in the respiratory on call rota (including weekends and bank holidays as required). It is essential you have current HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist and NHS experience.
