Band 3, £24,937 - £26,598 Per annum, pro rata
Hours: Part time, 22.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Navigator team within Gynaecology Cancer Services at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking a motivated and organised individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and effective organisational abilities - key requirements for delivering a high quality, fast paced service.
As a Band 3 Cancer Navigator, you will play an important role in supporting patients and the wider clinical team. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy helping others, and demonstrate a positive, approachable, and team focused attitude'We care We communicate We collaborate We contribute'

Main duties of the job
Act as a patient navigator, tracking each patient's pathway in line with national guidance
Enter accurate data into the Patient Access System and Somerset Cancer Database, following patient access policies and Consultant instructions
Serve as a central communication point for patients on a cancer pathway, ensuring patients and their families are supported and informed about upcoming appointments
Act as a first point of contact for patient queries and concerns, directing these to the relevant teams and escalating to clinical staff where appropriate
Ensure patient records are kept accurate and up to date, escalating any concerns or pathway delays to the Cancer Manager
Support Specialist Nurses with nurse-led clinic bookings and preparation
Assist in coordinating Holistic Needs Assessments, including patient bookings and outcome recording
