Decontamination Technician

Department Endoscopy

Band 3 £24,937 - £26,598 per annum

Hours: 37.5 per week - (+ On-call commitment)

All MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working.

The Department is operational from 7am - 8pm over a 6 day shift system. Your typical hours will be one week of earlies and one week of lates and the successful applicant will need to be able to work flexible shifts covering these hours. There will also be the occasional 8pm finish when on late shift.

The Department runs an on-call service and you would be required to participate fully in the out of hours on-call rota (contracted to one week in every four).

The role involves efficiently providing the correct handling, cleaning, decontamination maintenance and security of flexible endoscopes and related equipment.

No previous experience is required for this role as on ongoing training programme is in operation.

Based in the Endoscopy Department the post holder will be part of a team of technicians responsible for the reprocessing of Endoscopes and associated medical devices to include the automated Endoscopy reprocessors and accessories.

The post holder will adhere to all standards and policies relevant to the working area.

There may be a requirement to work within the Sterile Services Department once trained

Are responsible for completing all forms which form part of the ISO 13485 accreditation ensuring all forms are completed in a timely manner and any anomalies reported.
