Welcome to the Children's Nursing Team at MKUH.
Services for babies, children and young people at Milton Keynes Hospital are growing, reflected in the MK New Hospital Programme - MK View.
We are looking for a qualified Nursing Associate to join our established Children's Nursing Team on Ward 5. Ward 5 is a 22 bedded acute paediatric inpatient ward caring for acutely unwell babies, children and young people up to the age of 16 years across a range of specialities.
You will work collaboratively with the wider MDT, co-ordinating and delivering family centred care for a cohort of babies, children and young people requiring admission to acute hospital.
You will require patience, understanding, creativity and most of all a sense of fun to ensure that our youngest patients cope well with their treatments and time in hospital.

The Nursing Associate has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of registered nurses, working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.
Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate and will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct.
The following criteria identify the core components of the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of Nursing Associates. They identify what Nursing Associates can contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients and service users, and apply across all health and care settings. Work as part of a designated clinical team, delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
Clinical Responsibilities
Have a sound understanding of all elements of the nursing process and be able to assist the registered nurse in the on-going assessment, planning, management and evaluation of care.
To provide the highest standard of evidenced based nursing care for children, young people and their families in line with local and nationally agreed standards and guidelines.
Professional Demonstrate a professional approach to work in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
Ensure that only those activities for which competence has been achieved are undertaken without supervision and that recognition is given to the impact and consequences of practicing outside capability.
