We are looking for a Homecare and Procurement Officer to join the Pharmacy department.This role is primarily focused on overseeing the day to day administrative and operational responsibilities of the Pharmacy Homecare Service, which support over 2,500 patients receiving medicines at home. You will coordinate with homecare providers, ensure accurate service records, support stock control, and manage billing processes to help maintain a smooth, cost-efficient, and patient-focused service.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and communications skills. While primarily the focus is on Homecare, the post holder will also provide support to the Pharmacy Procurement team. This will include liaising with suppliers, assisting with stock ordering, and ensuring compliance with contractual purchasing agreements.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a comprehensive and efficient daily homecare and procurement service to the trust developing and updating services, following all legal and departmental practices including Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs), MHRA Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Distributors, COSHH, Lifting and Handling Regulations and all Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • To assist the Chief Technician and Pharmacy Business Manager with development of cost improvements to the department and trust.
