Band 2 £24,465 Per annum
Hours 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
The procurement team have an exciting new role of Receipt and Delivery Assistant and are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team.
This involves ensuring deliveries for goods across the Trust are made in a timely manner to prevent delays or cancellations to clinics/procedures, orders are correctly receipted on the Trust systems to allow for invoices to be paid without delay. You will be involved with ensuring accurate records are kept for goods received / delivered / returned for traceability purposes. You will need to plan the effective delivery of medical and non-medical consumables to wards and departments by planning and co-ordinating the requirements of these activities with these departments to meet the customer expectations.
In addition, you will contribute to the delivery of a highly effective, compliant and customer focussed receipt and delivery service, which meets the Trusts procurement requirements, whilst supporting the Trust's Cost Improvement Plan (CIP).

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills as you will need to influence internal customers whilst building and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
o To deliver a comprehensive Receipt & Delivery service ensuring orders are correctly receipted on the Trust systems in a timely manner to allow for invoices to be paid without delay.o To provide scheduled and emergency deliveries for goods across the Trust to prevent delays or cancelations to clinics/procedures.o To keep and maintain accurate records for goods received/delivered/returned for traceability purposes.

Job description
Job responsibilities
1. Initial acceptance of orders delivered into Receipt & Delivery, ensuring quantity of parcels/pallets on couriers records matches the amount delivered. Any shortage or damage should be noted on couriers records and the procurement buying team informed.
2. Orders with special requirements, i.e. containing temperature controlled items, next day and timed deliveries, etc. are to be dealt with urgently, and goods delivered as soon as possible .
3. Check correct goods are received and accurately receipt purchase orders into the Trust systems. Any discrepancies need to be promptly reported to the procurement buying team.
4. Liaise with Receipt & Delivery Supervisor / Procurement Team regarding any issues or queries with orders/returns.
5. Ensure all goods are delivered in a timely manner in line with any agreed delivery schedules. Goods from NHS Supply Chain need to be delivered as soon as possible to allow wards/departments sufficient time for reporting discrepancies.
6. Distribute goods to the correct point of order, obtaining proof of delivery from ward/department staff where necessary.
7. Ensure all signed receipts paperwork is matched to the relevant delivery notes - these need to be filed and kept up to date.
8. Collect empty Supply Chain cages on a daily basis and return to cage store. Collect any returns once provided with appropriate returns paperwork from the Procurement department.
9. Respond to all queries and enquiries in a timely and courteous manner, feeding any issues back to the line manager.
10. To complete all mandatory Trust training relevant to the post when required.
11. Liaise and assist other members of the Receipt & Delivery team in the safe receipt, dispatch and movement of stock around the Trust site, using appropriate equipment as provided, if necessary, following agreed Health and Safety procedures.
12. Ensure appropriate personal protection equipment/clothing is used at all times.
13. Ensure cleanliness/security/integrity is maintained within the Department at all times.
14. Carry out any other duties that may be required by the line manager/Operational Procurement Officer as may be reasonably expected within the scope of this post.
