An opportunity has arisen for a deputy bereavement midwife. The deputy bereavement midwife will be a highly motivated, experienced clinical midwife who focuses on the provision of leadership and clinical advice to support and promote excellence in safe, evidenced based practice.Interviews will be offered at least one week after the closing date.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will support the Division in supporting newly registered midwives both clinically and pastorally, to develop their confidence and competence whilst caring for bereaved families. You will work closely with the lead bereavement midwife to support ongoing improvement in services, driving change within practice. Applications are welcome from NMC registrants who are highly motivated, organised and passionate about providing safe, quality evidence-based care to the Women/birthing people who use our Maternity services.

The post holder works as a skilled practitioner and is responsible for the delivery of women-focused programmes of care, which address the complex and changing needs of the client group in his/ her clinical area. The post holder is required to be an autonomous, accountable practitioner caring and coordinating care for women and their families throughout pregnancy and baby loss. The post holder ensures the smooth running of the service in the absence of
the Bereavement Lead Midwife and provides clinical and managerial leadership to midwifery and support staff.
