MKUH is seeking an outstanding candidate for the senior operational leadership role of Associate Director of Operations in the Core Clinical Division
This Division includes the provision of services across; Radiology, Pathology, HSDU, Screening, Pharmacy, Therapies and Hotel Services. We are looking for a self-motivated, forward thinking and patient focussed individual with a proven track record in operational delivery and resilience, to join the senior management team and divisional triumvirate. The successful candidate will continue to drive forward the delivery of services.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills together with an operational experience at a senior level. You should be able to demonstrate the delivery of successful performance and improvement programmes within agreed timeframes.

Main duties of the job
Exciting developments are upon us as we continue the expansion of the hospital's estate. We intend to see commencement of the New Hospital Programme, providing state of the art facilities for Women and Children's services, Surgical services, and additional imaging provision. The construction of the new Radiotherapy Centre is progressing well and is scheduled to open in Spring 2024.
Together with other posts in the Divisional "Triumvirate":
Sets and delivers a multidisciplinary Divisional and CSU (Clinical Service Unit) strategy and vision that enables the delivery of the Trust objectives. Together they influence the Trust's future and provide a visible, effective and shared leadership.
Act within the Divisional Triumvirate and with their colleagues, accepting accountability for the services provided to and for patients.

Creating A Vision
Together with other members of the Divisional Triumvirate set, deliver and clearly communicate to staff a multidisciplinary Divisional and CSU strategy and vision that enables delivery of the Trust strategy.
Delivering the Trusts Strategy
Contributing to the implementation of the Trusts vision and strategy at Management Board level through the development of the Divisional strategies.
Develop and agree the strategic plans that place patient care at the heart of the service, ensuring that these are translated into achievable operational plans for the CSUs.
Represent the Division and the Trust at a range of senior and external meetings, often giving complex and sensitive information and requiring a high level of influencing and negotiating skill, i.e., transfer of service, creating partnerships with other Trusts and large scale and complex redundancy schemes.
Close monitoring and analysis of the key performance indicators and standards to inform Management Board.
Setting Direction
Contribute to the strategy and aspirations of the Trust and acts in a manner consistent with the values. Acting as a broker/bridge between health economy wide decisions and operational delivery.
Ensure that the Trusts values and supporting behaviours are embodied in the performance of the Triumvirate and all Divisional and CSU staff.
Improving The Service
Develop Divisional and CSU policies and performance management, to ensure continuing improvement against quality, efficiency and financial benchmarking.
Actively seek and support opportunities for service and clinical pathway transformation and continuing improvement, using best practice and patient experience and focus wherever possible to inform service redesign and supporting an integrated approach to patient care across Divisional, CSU, speciality and organisational boundaries.
