Job summary

Applications are invited to apply for a Clinical Fellow (ST3+) / Medical Training Initiative (MTI) role with an interest in Oncology at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is 23 month Fixed term contract, under the Medical Training Initiative Scheme.

As a Medical Training Initiative post, please note only applicants without GMC registration are eligible to apply for this role.

The successful applicant will work a 1 in 5 weekend ward round rota. Commitments include cover for Oncology activities within outpatients, inpatient and day case treatments as well as MDT representation and involvement in cancer network groups and meetings. The post would normally exceed the 40 hours fulltime contract and additional hours will be paid in line with the 2016 contract, as per the work schedule.

It would be expected that the successful applicant will participate in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students, associated with the University of Buckingham.

Main duties of the job

The Oncology team consists of 6 Consultants, 4 Specialty Doctors

The department operates as part of the Medical Directorate. Its function is to provide a comprehensive Oncology service throughout the hospital and to facilitate the efficient, safe and high quality care of its patients. This is achieved by running a comprehensive, co-ordinated and integrated service, which is sensitive to the changing needs of patients and colleagues and is able to adapt to new demands in patient care.
