Staff Nurse
Department: Specialist Gynaecology, Outpatients
Band: 5 £28,407 - £34,581 per annum, pro rata if part-time
Hours: full-time and part time considered, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

We are seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic NMC Registered Nurse to join our caring team within the Specialist Gynaecology Outpatient service. You will work closely with the specialist nurses, medical teams and other MDT members to provide clinics.
The successful post holders will play an integral part of the day to day running of the hysteroscopy, colposcopy and urogynaecology clinics providing high standards of care. You will be expected to provide a supportive role and contribute to the education, training, and experiences of newly appointed and existing staff in all aspects of the service.
For this challenging and rewarding role you must have an interest in women's health, be flexible and a team worker with good communication skills. You will be provided the opportunity to develop and increase your knowledge and skills in women's health.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to the work of the Specialist Gynaecology outpatient nursing service. You will support the medical and nursing clinicians to provide nursing care during procedures and clinics.
You will be responsible for the care of patients assigned to the outpatient clinics and specialist outpatient diagnostic and treatment procedures including women undergoing invasive gynaecological procedures such as colposcopy, hysteroscopy, vulval treatments, urodynamics and flexible cystoscopy.
To be responsible for the recovery of women following said procedures.
To provide high quality patient-centred services for women leading to improvement in care and positive patient experience. You will ensure the needs of patients and their relatives needs are met during their visit to the clinics. You will assist staff with procedures during clinics including obtaining specimens e.g. bodily fluids and histopathology specimens, completion of vital signs and informing the practitioner of any concerns.
