It is an exciting time to join the pharmacy team at MKUH as we are continually growing in size and influence. We have recently undergone a major departmental refurbishment the opening a new Pharmacy and Aseptic Unit in our Cancer Centre.
An exciting career development opportunity has arisen for an able, skilled pharmacist with an interest in cancer care to join our busy, forward-looking and innovative pharmacy service. We are looking for a Band 7 Specialist Pharmacist for Cancer Service to deliver a key role in supporting and expanding pharmaceutical care for our Cancer patients. You will be one of three Specialist Pharmacists providing clinical and pharmaceutical support to the Haematology and Oncology teams and contributing to the work of the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit.

Main duties of the job
This post will work alongside the Principal Pharmacists for Cancer Services to manage all of the medicines needs of our Oncology and Haematology patients. In addition to providing ward based clinical pharmacy services and clinical support to the cancer centre pharmacy, you would be expected to take the opportunity to gain experience of supporting and supervising more junior staff, undertaking quality improvement and audit work, championing medicines optimisation and safety initiatives at ward level and working alongside the Principal Pharmacist to support the wider cancer team with any medicines related issues.
You will be supported by a team of experienced pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and the wider pharmacy team. This post has a key role in the delivery, development and evaluation of the pharmaceutical services we provide to cancer patients across the hospital in both inpatient and outpatient environments to optimise medicines use within available resources.
