Job summary
Applicants are invited to apply for the position of Senior House officer in General Surgery at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The general surgery department is seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated people with the ability to work with the general surgery team to provide a comprehensive service across the department.
All Medical staff employed by the Trust are expected to comply with hospital health and safety policies, clinical governance and other risk management policies.
Main duties of the job
This post will involve working on a resident on call rota, as well as other duties such as day-to-day running of the ward and, when required, assisting Consultants and Specialty Doctors in theatre. Therefore, depending on agreement, this post would normally exceed the basic 40 hours per week full time contract. The post holder will also be expected to cross-cover of the ENT department when on night shifts.
The SHO will provide clinical support and set a professional example working alongside other clinical staff. Duties will revolve around day to day running of the ward. More specifications about main duties will be in shift details received from trust.
