Job summary
Medical Records Clerk
Hours: 16.5 hours per week
Salary: Band 2 Agenda For Change
As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be preparing patient files for outpatient clinics and day case procedures, preparing documents for scanning, scanning of documents, collection and delivery of patient files throughout the hospital site, dealing with telephone enquiries, and working to strict timelines.
You will work as part of a team within Patient Access and once fully trained, will provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient medical records.
To succeed we are looking for someone who:
- Is committed to delivering excellent service;
- Holds the ability to learn to accurately and efficiently input and prepare patient records whilst adhering to policies and procedures;
- Has experience of handling inbound telephone calls;
- Has IT skills in relation to Microsoft packages including Word/Excel;
- Shows evidence of working under pressure to tight deadlines and is able to deal with difficult situations e.g. late add ons to clinics, preparing paper documentation should there be a system failure, etc.
- Has a good general education, ideally with Maths & English at GCSE (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
