We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join the leadership of our Workforce team as an Assistant Director of HR Services.
The role is accountable for a number of core functions within Human Resources, including HR Services (Payroll, Temporary Staffing, Automation, Systems/Rostering and Workforce Information) and Resourcing (Recruitment and Medical Staffing).
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Workforce, the Assistant Director of HR Services will be an integral member of the senior team and will have operational responsibility for the provision of efficient, high quality, professional and employee-centred services, ensuring alignment to the workforce strategy and relevant statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements.

Main duties of the job
You should have significant experience of managing and leading systems, payroll, and recruitment teams and be a credible source of expertise in these areas. With a history of project and service delivery, you will be an excellent communicator and knowledgeable leader, capable of taking your team with you on a journey of innovative service improvements.
The post holder will lead the HR Services Department to ensure that all workstreams and programmes are planned and carried out efficiently. This includes leading and overseeing the following services:
- HR Services Team - (Payroll, Temporary Staffing, Systems/Rostering and Workforce Information)
- Resourcing (Recruitment and Medical Staffing)
The post holder will lead the provision of efficient, effective, high quality, professional and well co-ordinated services capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS best practice requirements, ensuring alignment with the activity of the Trust. This includes responsibility for the service level agreements and contracts with external companies and suppliers.
The post holder will be responsible for the management and performance of the service, and develop and lead on the implementation of the Trust's Workforce Strategy.

Communicate with external suppliers to ensure the achievement of performance targets and strategic objectives. This involves negotiation, diplomacy and undertaking presentations to convey key messages.

Facilitate briefings and partnership working, ensuring the delivery of key national, regional and local priorities to promote the wider objectives of transformational change.
Represent MKUH at regional and national forums.
