Job summary
We are looking for an experienced registered nurse with evidence of strong leadership skills and an enthusiasm in caring for elderly patients.
This role provides an opportunity to develop your clinical knowledge, leadership and management skills while being supported by an experienced MDT team.
As Junior Sister/Charge Nurse you will provide expert care and manage quality of care, service delivery and effectively and compassionately lead the team.
Combe ward is an elderly care ward within the Older Person's Unit at the RUH and prides itself on providing care to our frail patients.

Main duties of the job
As the nurse in charge, you will play a pivotal role in the daily delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. You will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of your clinical area, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, and that accurate records are maintained.
You will be a leader for the team and demonstrate daily your leadership skills, ensuring the welfare of patients and your team are prioritised.
You will be a mentor to junior staff, carrying out one to one meetings, appraisals and managing attendance and professional development.
