We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our friendly team on the Older Persons Assessment Unit (OPAU). This is a front-door acute frailty assessment unit, meaning staff provide rapid assessments and early intervention for older adults who present with acute or complex needs.
In this role you will provide a comprehensive administrative, clerical and non-clinical support for the healthcare professionals who are involved in patient care. You'll be a key member of the ward team by supporting a patient focused and friendly environment.
You will have contact with patients, their relatives/carers throughout your shift, therefore you need to have good customer service skills and a friendly, polite manner.
We are looking for someone who can be flexible in the role so that individual needs of the ward are cared for. Training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
To provide efficient and professional administrative and clerical support This will include:
- To welcome and greet patients and relatives in a friendly and courteous manner and provide relevant information to patients and relatives.
- To show patients and relatives where things are and what facilities they can use (when needed).
- To answer the telephone and respond to enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner, taking action as appropriate.
- To liaise with nurses, Doctors, and other members of the team obtaining and communicating necessary information accurately to assist the provision of a quality service for the patients.
- To maintain an efficient filling system for tracking of health records.
- Maintain the admissions book, inpatient board and patient details/ appointments on the patient administration system so that there is timely and accurate information available at all times.
