Main duties of the job
In this role, you will support the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy services across dispensary and stores. Working under the supervision of a registered pharmacy professional, your key responsibilities will include:
- Dispensary Support
- Accurately label and dispense medicines in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist with prescription processing and maintain accurate records on the hospital system.
- Provide a helpful and professional service to patients and staff at the pharmacy reception.
- Stores & Stock Management
- Receive, check, and store pharmaceutical deliveries safely.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and rotate stock to minimise waste.
- Pick and pack medicines for wards and clinics, ensuring timely delivery.
- Ward Support
- Participate in ward top-up systems to maintain stock levels.
- Liaise with ward teams to ensure medicines are available when needed.
- General Duties
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Handle enquiries professionally and refer queries appropriately.
- Support over-labelling and pre-packing of medicines.
- Contribute to audits and service improvements.
- Participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas as required.
