Job summary
We are seeking a Band 7 Midwife to work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary as the Perinatal Pelvic Health Midwife on a permanent basis. This post will enhance the prevention of pelvic health injury in pregnancy and birth. The post holder will support the delivery of the OASI bundle, identify women at risk of pelvic floor injury and providing training and education for staff and service users around pelvic floor exercises. The post holder will run a specialist clinic and workshops for women and birthing people with mild/moderate urinary incontinence and pelvic floor injury.

Main duties of the job
To work cooperatively with existing services and the Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to develop pathways, referral criteria, data collection and service evaluation related to the implementation of a new service. You will also work closely with the Psychological Wellbeing Midwife and the Perinatal Mental Health Midwife to ensure that both physical and psychological needs are met.
To act as a lead resource for maternity services with expert knowledge of perinatal pelvic health and to provide clinical advice, support and training to staff, mothers and babies and other members of the multi-disciplinary team

To complete screening for pelvic floor dysfunction with service users
To be able to provide physical assessment of the pelvic floor function
To be responsible for providing consultation, advice, referral and treatment (within scope) for women and birthing people with mild/moderate pelvic floor dysfunction as part of the perinatal pelvic health pathway.
