Job summary

We have an opportunity to join the Pharmacy team at the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust as Pharmacy Clinical Lead - Cancer Services.

As a direct report to the Associate Director of Pharmacy - Cancer Services you will be a key member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team.This pivotal role will lead on both day to day and strategic delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective cancer pharmacy services across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

  1. Service management responsibility for delivery of clinical Cancer services
  2. Ensure best value use of medicines in Oncology & Haematology and implement cost improvement programmes to deliver efficiencies and savings
  3. Provide expert clinical input into cancer treatment pathways.
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
  5. Support governance, education, and innovation in cancer medicines use.

  • Pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council (UK) registration
  • Demonstrable evidence of reflection on practice and Continuing Professional Development
  • Senior Leadership accreditation (NHS Leadership Academy or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Member of British Oncology Pharmacy Association (BOPA)
  • Formal management Training
  • Independent Prescribing qualification

Knowledge and experience

  • Pharmacy Onc/Haem leadership experience at 8a grade level or above (or equivalent) in a provider setting
  • Operational and staff management plus senior/middle management training
