Job summary
An exciting challenge awaits the right individual to oversee the timely and effective delivery of service and the maintaining of high standards of cleanliness throughout the catering department in this fast paced demanding role.
Candidates must be motivated professionals with previous experience supervising a team within a catering environment. Someone who takes pride in their work, paying attention to detail and able to effectively communicate at all levels. They will have knowledge of HACCP and COSHH ensuring everyone within the team adhere to departmental policies and procedures at all times.
Main duties of the job
Working with storekeepers, kitchen supervisors and catering management to ensure effective supervision over all portering duties.
Ensure timely and correct storage of all foods and non-food items.
To manage portering rosters and cleaning rosters ensuring adequate cover on each shift and that high standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times in all catering areas.
Ensure kitchen porters receive mandatory induction and refresher training as required, identifying and actioning any additional training needs of individual staff.
To ensure the timely and professional delivery of service expected by our service users.
To manage the timely and effective disposal of al kitchen waste.
Continually monitor all catering equipment and building fabric to Identify maintenance issues, reporting them on Shire and following up until completion.
To work with other departments and wards to support the continuous smooth working of the hospital.
To deal effectively with verbal complaints, incidents and accidents ensuring appropriate steps are taken to avoid reoccurrence and bringing them to the attention of the food production manager.
To continually promote safe working practices, strong team working ethics, effective communication and the Trusts values and working behaviors,
