IT Support Technician

Job summary
In this role you will make a difference by providing IT support to customers (mainly RUH staff) ensuring systems are maintained and supported to the highest standards.
You will ensure that all support calls and requests are dealt with appropriately and in accordance with defined policies and procedures.
You'll be the first point of contact for all customers with IT Services queries, which includes call answering, logging calls onto the service desk system, password resets, application configuration resets and changing permissions on IT systems.
In addition, you will assist in configuration, testing and upgrades of all IT systems and will ensure the continued improvement of data quality throughout the Trust.
Main duties of the job
To provide assistance, advice, and fault resolution to users of IT equipment, systems and network.
To ensure that all support calls and requests are dealt with promptly and effectively in accordance with defined policies and procedures.
To install operating systems and software applications
To Assist in system upgrades and rollouts across the Trust as directed
To configure, audit, and install new PCs, printers and other equipment.
To assist in replacement and upgrading of existing IT equipment, including data transfer and replacement of hard disks, memory etc.
To dispose of redundant IT equipment in accordance with organisational procedures.
To assist with general systems, support and housekeeping tasks
