Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join our Pensions team and we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Pensions Officer to join our expanding Pensions Team.

Our Pension team is responsible for supporting and maintaining the administration of the NHS Pension and NEST pension schemes for our members. The successful post holder would support the Pension Team Leader with Pension Training, Reporting, use of electronic systems and be an essential member of the team, providing Pension-related information, calculations and advice to all employees, managers and executives.

You will support the Trust by providing subject matter expertise on all areas of the NHS Pension Scheme and will work in conjunction with the rest of the team to ensure the efficient delivery of the service.

Previous NHS Pensions experience is desirable but other relevant pension experience would be considered for interested applicants.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and processing of all applications and re-enrolments in line with NHS Pension Scheme.

Provide specialist written and/or verbal advice and calculations to team members, managers and employees of all disciplines of the Trust.

Deal directly with the NHS Pensions Agency to resolve any issues that may arise.

Oversee the accurate and punctual payment of Trust Pension Scheme benefits and maintenance of pension records on ESR and Pensions online.

Calculate redundancy pay in line with terms and conditions/pension scheme regulations and provide information regarding related costs to managers and Human Resources (HR).

Provide support and training, when required on NHS Pension/NEST and Total Reward Statements (TRS).

Ensure General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are adhered to at all times.

Work as part of team, without supervision and prioritise own workload.

To support the Pension team leader where applicable.

Enhance own performance through continuously developing own knowledge, skills andbehaviours to meet the current and future requirements of the job and respond to thelearning needs of the Trust.

To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.

To contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the teams in which they work.

To work towards the quality objectives of the Trust, Directorate and the Department.
