Job summary

We are looking for an applicant who would like to join the Radiology team at the RUH in the position of Radiology Administrator. The purpose of this role is;

To assist the Operational Lead Radiographer, Team Leader Radiographers and Radiology Daily Coordinators in providing the main administrative support for the smooth running of the day-to-day operational functions of the Department

To provide full and comprehensive admin support for the preparation of the Radiology Department staff rotas; monitoring the Radiology rota email inbox and working with the Daily Coordinator and Operational Lead Radiographer to deliver staff rotas that ensure the delivery of the service

To coordinate the Radiographer and RDA annual leave and lieu time records liaising with the staff Line Managers, ensuring all radiographic leave is recorded accurately. This being key to delivering the appropriate and safe staffing cover to meet the departments requirements

To escalate any rota gaps or operational issues that would affect the day-to-day operational functioning to the Operational Lead Radiographer and Radiology Daily Coordinators

Main duties of the job

Rotas

Develop and effectively implement the radiographic 'draft' staffing rota 6-weeks in advance

Monitor the Radiology rota inbox to ensure accurate amendments to the weekly Radiology rotas are updated

Monitor the OoH email inbox to factor in changes for filling the gaps that affect both the weekly & OoH rota

Maintain communication with staff to ensure OoH gaps are filled in advance

Ensure that community clinics requiring radiographic support are made aware of any potential cover issues, in a timely manner

Maintain accurate records of radiographic staff competencies to ensure appropriate cover and support the Team Lead Radiographers in future staff development

Ensure accurate information affecting both weekly and out-of-hours working is synchronised to allow checking against Health Roster

Ensure accurate records are kept of Bank and Agency staff usage, both via Health Roster and on own departmental records for budgeting

Input accurate requests for bank shifts on Health Roster, 'allocate' once 'authorised' and 'finalise' once worked to ensure payment for staff

Print off and distribute paper copies of the department rotas each Friday

Recording radiographic staff leave

Accurately review and record all radiographic staff leave and liaise with the Operational Lead Radiographer highlighting areas of concern regarding the number on leave at any one time
