This pivotal role is a key position within our leadership team. As Deputy COO you will be a senior operational point of contact at the RUH, with responsibility to support the COO in oversight of operational management, performance, and service improvement of care to patients, within our three Divisions.

Main duties of the job

Essential skills required for the role include:

  • Ability to provide highly visible and inspirational leadership for staff throughout the RUH, championing a professional and open culture which empowers staff to deliver consistently exceptional care with compassion, acting as a role model for the behaviours and high professional standards expected.
  • Previous experience of working in a senior leadership role of a large and highly complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to managing and implement change.
  • Proven ability to negotiate with senior stakeholders, using complex, highly sensitive, and sometimes contentious information.
  • Knowledge of and experience in delivering all key national and local targets and standards related to our healthcare services.

Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development (CPD) and learning.
