Job summary
We are looking for someone to support our Clinical Team in Urology - if you have experience in dealing with people on the telephone or in person and are keen to make a difference, this could be the job for you.
We offer a mixed model of working - office-based or working from home - experience in the NHS is not necessary, just an ability to quickly adapt to a fast-moving department. Attention to detail is a must.

Main duties of the job
To provide a complete Medical Secretarial service, audio typing, composition of letters, providing fast and accurate copy and audio typing service and input onto the database. To provide cover for Reception/Administration Team when needed, greeting patients, booking in and out of Clinics and other administration duties. Liaising with Nurses, Doctors and members of staff including Inpatient & Outpatient Bookings Teams to provide a quality service.To work as part of a Team sharing responsibility for the smooth running of the Department.To provide a first point of contact, answering telephone inquiries, taking and relaying messages, using own judgement to establish the priority of issues and taking action as appropriate. To keep the Trust database up-to-date for follow-up appointments and to make timely appointments. To deal with incoming correspondence, using initiative as appropriate. To make best use of information technology, i.e. Microsoft software and to be involved with changing technology. To check patients have been listed on database.To assist in the fast track treatment pathway for patients with cancer.To provide Secretarial/Reception cover across the Urology directorate as directed, assisting named Consultants with the work generated.To be flexible to the needs of the Directorate and Trust. Where appropriate may be responsible for ordering stationery and other office supplies.
