Job summary

The Dermatology Department at the Royal United Hospital in Bath are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Specialist Grade Doctor to join their experienced team.

The post is a full time, permanent post and will be based at the Royal United Hospital and will support the further development of the Dermatology services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy and visionary department, and have an opportunity to participate in the continuing development and success of the service.

The successful candidate will be supported by the consultant team and carry out general clinics, skin cancer clinics as well as skin surgery and will be encouraged to develop their area of interest.

Main duties of the job

Timetable will include regular outpatient clinics. You will also run a weekly minor op list and one stop skin cancer clinics.

You will play a key role in coordinating care for in-patients and patients referred by their GP with acute dermatoses.

Clinics will be a mix of face to face and telephone consultations as well as Teledermatology.

As well as covering general Dermatology, specialist services at the RUH include see and treat Skin Cancer clinics, Paediatrics - eczema and general, Vulval clinics, joint clinics with Rheumatology, Biologics, Immuno clinics, tele dermatology and a monthly combined clinic for complex patients.

The appointee will be expected to see a proportionate share of emergency GP and ward referrals between 9am and 5pm on weekdays and per job plan.

Attendance at weekly Local Skin Cancer MDT meeting as well as monthly departmental management meetings and clinical governance meetings.

Flexibility to undertake clinics in different formats will be expected (tele dermatology, face to face, surgical lists, telephone and video consultations and remotely held joint clinics).

An interest in research and teaching is expected with participation in projects, courses, etc. to enhance the standing and role of the Department and Trust.
