Job summary
We have an opportunity to recruit a motivated, talented, Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Theatre Nurse (RGN) to join Theatres as a Team Leader.
The Royal United Hospital has 16 operating Theatres covering a wide range of elective, trauma and emergency specialities.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference and develop your own skills within a supportive, friendly, forward thinking team.
Main duties of the job
In this role you would be expected to take responsibility for an area of speciality; be first line manager for a team of staff; the efficient running of a theatre. There will be an expectation of working some unsocial hours e.g. late shifts and long days (8am-8pm) within this role.
You will be able to communicate effectively and adopt a practical common sense approach to working, be able to work well under pressure, and you should have evidence of continued professional development. The ability to motivate and lead a team, with significant theatre experience at Band 5 level is crucial.
The ability of being multi-skilled and being able to work, as both the scrub and anaesthetic practitioner would be beneficial to the department and to your team.
