Job summary

Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow (ST3-8) posts in Urology. This post is available from March 2024 for 12 months.

This post is ideal for pre ST3 level candidates seeking to gain a broad urological experience to support a competitive ST3 application. We have a very strong history of our Clinical Fellows going on to obtain national training numbers after working as part of our team. In the last 5 years, 4 of our clinical fellows have obtained NTNs. Equally this post is ideal for urologists who are looking to broaden their experience to support a future CESR registration on the specialist registrar. We can offer support for the CESR process as we have supported one of previous clinical fellows going through this process. Clinical work will be tailored to experience and training needs.

Main duties of the job

This is a post developed by the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust. The appointment will not lead to the award of CCT. The post will be based at the RUH and the holder will participate in audit and directorate meetings and undertake administrative duties as required by the Clinical Director of Urology.

A commitment to maintain professional expertise by attendance at meetings and courses is expected. An interest in research and teaching is expected with participation in projects, courses, etc. to enhance the standing and role of the Department and Trust.

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Completed Core Surgical Training/equivalent

Desirable

  • ALS, APLS and/or ATLS
  • At least 6 months experience of Urology
