Job summary
Are you an experienced Critical care outreach/intensive care nurse who has an innovative leadership style with ambition to build on the foundations of the existing Critical Care Outreach Team? We are looking for a dynamic individual who will have the ability to support the expansion of the team and support the development of the Critical care Outreach advanced practitioner role within the Trust. The plan for this leadership role will be a band 7 to an 8a once the post holder is fully qualified as an advanced nurse practitioner and completed the critical care outreach national competencies.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the role are developing practices that will deliver patient focused programmes of care, which address the complex and changing needs of the deteriorating and critically ill patients across the organisation. The post holder will need to demonstrate critical thinking, safe decision making working within local and national agreed protocols and guidelines. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills required for the four pillars of advanced practice. As the team expands and develops the post holder will need to have the skills and expertise to develop and support nurse focused education programmes based on the national enhanced ward competencies with the aim to support ward nurses in developing the knowledge and skills to recognise and care for the deteriorating patient.
