Job summary

Opportunities within RUH Staff Counselling Service

Here at the RUH in Bath we run a highly regarded Employee Assistance Programme & Staff Counselling Service which is accessible to all staff. We also offer support to local universities & other local organisations so our client base is large & diverse.

We are keen to recruit accredited counsellors/psychotherapists/CBT/EMDR practitioners to join us as bank/sessional workers so we can continue to meet rising demand for support. We would be particularly interested to hear from applicants who reflect the diversity of our workforce, especially those from BAME backgrounds, LGBTQ+ applicants & applicants with disabilities.

Ideally applicants should have experience of delivering a brief therapy models & be able to work face to face with clients in Bath. At the present time we are looking to recruit bank staff to work in person at the RUH on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Main duties of the job

To provide counselling/therapy and related interventions on a sessional basis to facilitate the delivery of the EAP Staff Counselling Service to the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and other external organisations.

  • Diploma or degree in counselling or psychotherapy recognised by BACP
  • Membership of BACP or UKCP

Desirable

  • Professional body accreditation e.g. BACP, UKCP
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and ability to demonstrate this

Knowledge

  • At least two years' experience of supervised counselling or psychotherapy practice
  • Experience of workplace counselling

  • Experience of counselling in NHS or GP surgery
  • Ability to apply practice knowledge to the NHS
