Job summary
Its an exciting time within the People Directorate at the RUH as we change the way we operate with the specific objective of improving our ability to deliver the RUH People Plan. We have an excellent opportunity for experienced HR practitioners to take on the role of Deputy People Business Partner at the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful post holders will be key in providing HR support within the new People Hub across the organisation ensuring the provision of high quality operational support as well as the delivery of organisational change programmes across the Trust.
You will work flexibly, in line with the overall needs of the People Hub team. This is a busy, dynamic role with excellent support from the Head of People Hub and People Business Partners and the overall People Hub Team. We all pride ourselves on providing a professional, pro-active and person-centered HR service, in line with the Restorative Just Learning Culture principles.
You will hold the post-graduate level 7 CIPD qualification (or be working towards it) and have significant operational experience that includes managing organisational change programmes alongside employee relations cases through to dismissal. Experience of coaching and developing managers in effective people management is essential as is highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Main duties of the job
- Provide high quality advice on all HR issues across the organisation, and working with the Head of People Hub and People Business Partners ensuring there is the best people management practice, including workforce management and development and employee relations in all designated areas.
- With the Head of People Hub and People Business partners acting as an effective "business partner" providing high quality advice and challenge to influence improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness of Divisions and coaching managers to improve their leadership and people management skills.
- To work on specific delegated HR projects in line with the People Plan.
- To act as a role model within the People team and for the team both within the trust and externally, demonstrating the trust values at all times. To develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation including at the senior level.
- To undertake education and development responsibilities including the support of the delivery of management development courses and general induction.
