Job summary

We are looking for a Co-ordinator to join our Cancer Services Team, someone who is a confident communicator, who is pro-active, enthusiastic, and a committed individual.

You will need to be flexible and innovative in your approach to your role with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to use our own initiative. Excellent attention to detail and experience of complex data collection would be beneficial. Knowledge of medical terminology and a minimum typing speed of 25wpm would be advantageous. Full training will be given.

Main duties of the job

You will work within our busy Cancer Services department. This is a pivotal role to help achieve the National Cancer Standards and Cancer Waiting Times. The role is to ensure patients are tracked throughout their cancer pathway and are treated in a timely fashion, and this includes attending weekly site specific PTL meetings. Core duties include preparation of the weekly MDT meetings/attend MDT meetings with specialist teams either face to face or virtually through MS Teams and documenting specific information 'live' during these meetings. You will also cross-cover various sites which allows you to learn and gain a deeper understanding of each cancer site.

The post holder will need to be highly credible and confident and be able to work with a wide range of colleagues as you will be working closely with the clinicians, specialist nurses and other health professionals who are involved with the care and treatment of patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. The role has a high degree of autonomy and you should be used to managing your workload and prioritising key tasks to ensure actions are completed in a timely manner.
