Rated 'Outstanding' in our latest CQC review, our service consists of an acute and 2 standalone birth centres. We also have 2 community midwifery led units, a 24 hour Maternity Assessment Unit and are in the planning stages of an alongside midwifery unit at the RUH site. This is your chance to be part of a transforming organisation where we aim to ensure all women have access to the optimal birth environment in accordance with their choice.We are seeking self-motivated, innovative and flexible midwives to work within our teams providing care to families.As a midwife working within our services we can offer you experience across all areas of maternity including, community maternity units, stand-alone birthing centres, homebirth and the Consultant led Birth Centre, acute postnatal and transitional care settings.

Main duties of the job

Professionalo Fulfil the role of midwife as defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council adhering to theMidwives Rules and Code of Practice thereby ensuring relevant registration is maintained.o Take personal responsibility for own professional development and up-dating in accordance with PREP requirements.

Clinicalo Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care throughout pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period. Also facilitate others in their practice.o Effectively prioritise clinical caseload to meet client need.

Education and Trainingo Be aware of national and local policies that have impacted upon the maternity services.o Be sufficiently flexible to change and develop practice in light of knowledge gained through reflection, research and audit.

Managerialo Ensure relevant information is disseminated to staff within appropriate time scales, including the multi-disciplinary team if required.o Use effective interpersonal skills to lead and promote excellence in midwifery practice.
