Lockdown may be a thing of the past, but Covid isn't and the vaccination programme is still very much part of the healthcare agenda. To help us meet the Covid-19 vaccination requirement as well as supporting other important vaccinations, we are now looking to expand our workforce pool to help deliver this vital protection to people living across the Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire area.
As aCOVID-19 Registered Health Care Professionaland Clinical Supervisor you will be responsible for:
- Setting up and management of the vaccination station, staff and volunteers
- Reviewing patient medical histories and any potential adverse reactions
- Conducting pre-vaccination clinical assessments and confirming patient consent
- Preparing the relevant vaccine prior to administration
- Dilution and drawing up of the vaccine from multi-dose vials
- Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to policies and procedures
- Ensuring digital records are updated in a timely manner
- Supervision and support for B5 registered colleagues and B3 non-registered colleagues
- Liaison with other staff and citizens to ensure an effective and efficient vaccination service
To be considered for the role you will hold a professional healthcare registration and be willing to put yourself forward to undertake training and to commit to working 1 or more shifts a week, during the seasonal vaccination campaigns.
Main duties of the job
You could be a Nurse, Pharmacist, Occupational Health Practitioner or other Registered Health Care Professional.
As the Lead Employer for the BSW Covid-19 Vaccination Programme, you will work through the RUH bank on a zero hour's agreement providing ad hoc flexible cover to help deliver vaccines in a variety of setting, including care homes, citizens own homes and in pop-up vaccine clinics in the Chippenham and Bath area, with opportunities to also work on the vaccination programme across the wider BSW area.
Shift availability fluctuates depending on demand for vaccines from the general public, with greater availability during the seasonal (autumn and spring) vaccination campaigns, but you will have the flexibility to choose shifts and locations that suit your work-life balance.
In return for your support and commitment, we can offer you comprehensive training and support, being part of a great multi-disciplinary team, working in a multitude of locations and support to consider and move in to future health and social care roles.
The Autumn '23 Vaccination Campaign runs from early October to mid-December 2023 when there will be high demand for vaccines and therefore although we are particularly interested in hearing from you if you can offer support in the Chippenham and Bath area, we equally welcome applications from candidates able to commute across Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire.
