Job summary

TheAcute StrokeUnit (ASU) has an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join a friendly, supportive and experienced team, and help us to deliver high quality care to stroke patients.

ASU (Acute Stroke Unit)is a busy, energetic place to work and has 30 beds including a hyper acutearea, admitting patients directly from ED & TIA clinic.

The Acute Stroke Unit has been awarded Silver Accreditation and is proud to provide excellent care to patients from admission through to discharge.

Staff adhere to our trust values (Everyone Matters, Making A Difference, Working Together) in all that they do. ASU work with a wider Multi-Disciplinary Team and have a dedicated team of Nurse Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and Speech & Language therapists based on the unit.

Main duties of the job

We are expanding our teams of Clinical Healthcare Support Workers within our hospital and we're inviting caring, supportive people to take a look at this exciting opportunity to join us on ASU.

  • Acute Stroke Unit

No previous healthcare experience is necessary. We provide all the training you need before you start working on one of our wards. You will start on our induction programme to help you settle into the Royal United Hospitals Bath and you will learn the skills you need to do this role and we will start you working towards achieving the Care Certificate (if you do not already hold this qualification).
