Job summary
B41 is a 20 bedded care of the elderly ward, where we provide care for patients who require sub-acute medical care or therapy needs.
We provide care to patients with the aim of making them medically fit , whilst planning for a safe discharge destination.
We have a rare and exciting opportunity to offer, of building a newly established ward within the RUH, with a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team, who are passionate in providing high standards of care.
The post will be for a fixed term period and the successful candidate will be provided with new skills, competence and development opportunities.
We welcome both experienced and newly qualified nurses who are caring, kind and compassionate about providing high levels of care to the elderly. There will be opportunities of development throughout with the support of a senior nurse team. You will be a highly valued member of the team and we aim to build a culture where staff wellbeing and high-level patient care is paramount.
Main duties of the job
To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker (with facilitation) for a defined group of patients and take responsibility for:The assessment of care and health education needs
- The development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient.
To gain experience and skills in:
- Clinical practice
- Facilitation and teaching
- Management (as appropriate)
To work in accordance with the RUH Nursing Strategy and contribute towards achieving its objectives and maintain effective communication and participate in clinical supervision as appropriate and to teach and act as a facilitator/mentor/preceptor/ role model to less experienced staff.
