Job summary
Applications are invited for an orthodontic therapy post at The Royal United Hospitals Bath, NHS Foundation Trust. This post will commence as soon as possible to support the existing service alongside two consultant Orthodontists. This is post helps to increase capacity for the department. The appointee will be required to work closely with existing Consultants and other members of the clinical and non-clinical team in order to provide high quality patient care.The orthodontic department at the The Royal United Hospitals Bath, NHS Foundation Trust is a busy unit providing orthodontic services to the population of North East Somerset. The department is supported by an onsite Oral / Maxillofacial and Orthodontic Laboratory and trained dental nurses.The successful candidate will undertake clinical work at the Maxillofacial and Orthodontic Department of The Royal United Hospitals Bath, NHS Foundation Trust .The post is for 10 sessions a week, to fit with the demands of the department.Potential applicants are welcome to contact Mrs. Farnaz Parvizi, Consultant Orthodontist, for further information about the post on Farnaz.parvizi@nhs.netThe successful candidate will be required to apply for an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.
Main duties of the job
Provide an orthodontic service implementing care plans and performing non-complex orthodontic procedures.
Provide a contribution to the clinical management of patients requiring orthodontic treatment working in collaboration with multidisciplinary professionals in order to improve patient care.
Conduct research and audit on delivery of patient care as required.
Facilitate, participate in audit and quality assurance programme, and promote evidence based practice.
Participate in teaching, mentoring and assessment of students, trainees and professional staff therefore promoting a learning culture.
