Job summary

Your NHS Vaccination Programme STILL needs you!

Lockdown may be a thing of the past, but Covid isn't and the vaccination programme is still very much part of the healthcare agenda. To help us meet the Covid-19 vaccination requirement as well as supporting other important vaccinations, we are now looking to expand our workforce pool to help deliver this vital protection to people living across the Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire area.

As aCOVID-19 Clinical Support Worker you will be responsible for:

  • Working under the direction of the Registered Health Care Practitioners
  • Supporting the set-up of the vaccination station
  • Carrying out pre-screening of citizens prior to their speaking with a Registered Healthcare Practitioner to give consent for vaccination
  • Dilution and drawing up of the vaccine from multi-dose vials
  • Preparing and administering the relevant vaccine
  • Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to policies and procedures
  • Ensuring digital records are updated in a timely manner
  • Liaison with other staff and citizens to ensure an effective and efficient vaccination service

To be considered for the role you will have experience in a public or patient facing role, be experienced with basic computer programmes and be willing to put yourself forward to undertake training and to commit to working 1 or more shifts a week, during the seasonal vaccination campaigns.

Interviews will be held via teams within two weeks of the closing date.

Main duties of the job

As the Lead Employer for the BSW Covid-19 Vaccination Programme, you will work through the RUH bank on a zero hour's agreement providing ad hoc flexible cover to help deliver vaccines in a variety of setting, including care homes, citizens own homes and in pop-up vaccine clinics in the Chippenham and Bath area, with opportunities to also work on the vaccination programme across the wider BSW area.

Shift availability fluctuates depending on demand for vaccines from the general public, with greater availability during the seasonal (autumn and spring) vaccination campaigns, but you will have the flexibility to choose shifts and locations that suit your work-life balance.

In return for your support and commitment, we can offer you comprehensive training and support, being part of a great multi-disciplinary team, working in a multitude of locations and support to consider and move in to future health and social care roles.

The Autumn '23 Vaccination Campaign runs from early October to mid-December 2023 when there will be high demand for vaccines and therefore although we are particularly interested in hearing from you if you can offer support in the Chippenham and Bath area, we equally welcome applications from candidates able to commute across Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire.
