Job summary
We have a vacancy for a qualified Senior Anatomical Pathology Technician to work in the mortuary at the Royal United Hospital Bath.
The mortuary serves the Royal United Hospital and the East Somerset Coroner, is situated on the RUH site in new facilities, accredited by UKAS and the Human Tissue Authority (HTA).
Applications are invited from experienced Anatomical Pathology Technicians with a Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology, or equivalent knowledge plus experience, with good IT communication skills.
The department is keen to support the professional development of its staff and access to further training is available.

Main duties of the job
To participate in the day to day running of the mortuary under the direction of the Chief APT, in accordance with the approved methods and quality assurance protocols.
Duties include undertaking routine and advanced post mortem duties, receipting and releasing to local undertakers, organising and co-ordinating viewings, undertaking technical and clerical duties.
There will be times where the post-holder will need to deputise for the Chief Anatomical Pathology Technician.
