Job summary
To work with other members of the team to deliver excellent person centered, safe and compassionate care for all children and adults with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) under the care of the Bath Centre. To provide accurate and sensitive information, advice and support to patients, their families and carers. To support the smooth running of the TSC clinics.
Main duties of the job
Alongside the Specialist Nurse:
- Provide accurate and sensitive information and support to people with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) their families and carers on day to day issues of living with the condition.
- Provide current and timely information and signposting to families and carers to appropriate support services.
- Support the smooth running of clinics including taking patient observations.
- Alongside the specialist nurse and specialty doctor support and monitor patients on medical treatment including ensuring patients have had monitoring, obtaining blood test results and providing advice on management of side effects.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of TSC including complications, treatments and new developments in care.
- Alongside the specialist nurse provide training and information on TSC and participate in the review of information provided by the clinic.
- Manage own time effectively and perform allocated tasks within a reasonable time frame, knowing when to seek support, assistance and advice from other team members.
- Undertake general clerical duties that may be associated with the smooth running of the clinic.
