Job summary

The West of England Academic Health Science Network has received a new five-year funding license from NHS England and the Office of Life Sciences to support clinical colleagues and external innovators identify opportunities for the discovery, development and deployment of exciting new health and care solutions, that will support our drive to improve population health through reduced inequalities, across our geography.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-orientated Programme Assistant to support our work, focusing on our programme of support provided to health and care innovators.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting position supporting the central remit of the AHSN to work closely with industry, academia, and our NHS colleagues to discover and develop promising innovations for deployment in health and social care as part of our Innovation Pipeline.

As well as providing day to day support for the West of England AHSN Discovery and Development work programme, the post holder will be expected to:

  • take responsibility for identified projects and tasks.
  • account manage and deliver the assessment, support, and development offer for specific innovations and
  • develop and maintain the governance and reporting framework for broader projects and the innovation pipeline to ensure delivery is being tracked monitored and reported. This will be using project management (Verto) and customer relationship management (ZOHO) systems.

High level skills will be required for the engagement and liaison with health and care stakeholders, the delivery of innovator support, together with the preparation of reports and metrics.

The successful candidate will have an ability to understand complex innovations or concepts, an appreciation of customer relationship management and an understanding of project or programme support. A life sciences graduate or those with a clinical background would be preferred, preferably with some experience supporting external customers and delivering packages of support
