We are looking for outgoing, personable pharmacy technicians, who are registered with the GPhC, to join our friendly Medicines Optimisation team who deliver a ward-based service that directly improves patient safety and outcomes.
The pharmacy department is forward thinking, with a strong clinical and patient focus, and is highly regarded within the organisation. The Trust has a strong education and training culture and we are committed to developing our staff.
The Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Technicians (MOPT) have a committed and important agenda to deliver which is highly rewarding, enjoyable and based in a friendly and modern environment.

Main duties of the job
The role involves;
o medicines reconciliation for newly admitted patients
o the ordering and supply of medicines for patients
o assessment of patients own drugs (POD's) for continued use
o Counselling patients on their medicines
o dispensing and final accuracy checking of prescriptions in the dispensary
o undertaking various audits to monitor and improve the Medicines Optimisation service
