Job summary

The Estates and Facilities Division is seeking a Sustainability Officer to join our forward thinking Sustainability Team to deliver a variety of projects for the Trust.

Priorities of the role will be to:

o Support the delivery of the Sustainability Strategy

o Promote sustainable travel and develop options for staff

o Lead campaigns

o Lead the Sustainability Champions Network

o Support Working Groups from across the Trust to deliver the Sustainability Strategy

The role represents an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to build further experience and knowledge in sustainability, and to prove their capabilities in project management and facilitation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the sustainability strategy for the Trust. This will include supporting the tasks required to ensure compliance with related legislation, regulations, codes of practices and technical guidance; developing the relevant policies and performance targets for the Trust. They will also be required to support the development of the Trust's Sustainability Strategy, including the annual completion of the Sustainable Development Assessment Tool (or relevant NHSi/E tool), and the maintenance of the Sustainable Development Management Plan.

The role will have responsibility for supporting the breadth of sustainability issues at the Trust, however has a specific responsibilities and focus on the areas of; sustainable travel; green spaces; air quality; and staff engagement.
