Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Department for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join our team.
This is a rare and sought after position and we have full time and part time positions available.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role in the ED include using the Emergency Department Information System (EDIS), taking and recording observations, applying simple dressings/plaster casts, providing fundamental care to patients; including supporting nutrition, hydration and elimination requirements, venepuncture and cannulation for example. All training for enhanced skills will be provided and support given.

Essential
- Holds Functional Skills Level 1 Maths and English or education equivalent
- Completed National Care Certificate
- Holds a level 2 Vocational Qualification (NCFE or Apprenticeship) in clinical health care OR Able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skill and competency to undertake band 3 clinical skills (described in JD)
- To undertake the Enhanced GROW Programme and completion of Clinical Skills Passport Part B
- To undertake Level 3 Health and social care qualification (NCFE or apprenticeship) or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skill and competency.

- Experience working in a healthcare organisation/setting, undertaking a wide range of clinical commitments.
