Job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join the Education Faculty. The Clinical Educator will deliver the Preceptorship Academy and RNA Competency Framework.

As a Clinical Educator, you will support the quality of the clinical learning environment for non-medical learners i.e. Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals by providing support, educational input and development activities for staff, supervisors, assessors and learners within pre-registration programmes. You will encourage the development of a learning culture where both education and lifelong learning are seen as integral to clinical practice and will positively contribute to the development of a workforce fit for purpose.

However existing Trust employees are welcome to apply as a secondment providing they have agreement from their current line manager before they apply.

Main duties of the job

As a clinical educator you will be expected to:

Model high professional standards of care and promote a culture of learning, to provide professional and clinical practice training

Be a visible practice presence in the clinical learning environments within the urgent care settings providing support to learners to enable them to achieve their learning objectives

Provide support to those assessing and supervising staff/students/ learners on a range of programmes

Assist supervisors, assessors, practice educators and departmental managers to facilitate the integration of theory and practice within the clinical environment for a variety of learners

Maintain accurate records of training, assessment and support provided, and provide reports as requested

Assist staff with access to supervisor and educator training

Deliver teaching sessions on a variety of clinical programmes

Support trust wide clinical training needs

Provide opportunities for professional development
